Mordets Melodi

Thrills, Laughs, and Old-Fashioned Radio: Mordets Melodi Brought to Life.

Murder, mystery, and strange sound effects will fill MCH Herning Congress Center on 21 January 2026, when the legendary radio crime drama Mordets Melodi (The Melody of Murder) is resurrected as a stage show for 2026.

The performance is based on Tavs Neiiendam’s popular 1943 radio play, which for years gave listeners chills.

Now, audiences get the chance to go behind the scenes of a “live recording,” where four actors in evening dress play a total of 30 roles – and create all the eerie sound effects themselves, right on stage. Everything from creaking doors to startling gunshots is made with imaginative and humorous props.

The result is thrilling, funny, and technically impressive – especially when one actor speaks to themselves in two roles or suddenly turns a tea towel into a spooky sound.

Get ready for an evening of both chills and laughter – and perhaps even learn how to make a potato sound like a knife stabbing. Mordets Melodi is a tribute to the magic and creativity of radio theatre and can be experienced at MCH Herning Congress Center on 21 January 2026.
