A place where nature, history and reflection come together.

Don't just bring your feet on the walk – bring your thoughts too.

Give them time and space. Let them wander, settle and perhaps find new paths as you make your way through woodland, open landscapes and traces of history.

Look around you. Feel the nature that you yourself are part of. Let the history, the spring, the forest and the views remind you that something was here before you – and something will come after.
The Spring Trail invites you on a walk through a landscape shaped by both the past and the present. Here, you have the opportunity to slow down, be present and let nature make room for reflection.

The trail follows parts of the historic Hærvejen near Nørre Snede and the Jutland ridge, shaped after the last Ice Age. People have travelled here since the hunter-gatherer Stone Age.
Along the way, you walk through the beautiful oak woodland of Nedergaard Østerskov, where the age and fullness of the oak trees can symbolise strength and wisdom – a living image of the tranquillity of nature and the passage of time.

Along the route, you will encounter traces of the past: the Romanesque Nørre Snede Church from the 12th century and Kong Snios Høj, an ancient burial mound believed to date from the Roman Iron Age around the birth of Christ. According to an old legend, King Snio is buried here.
Further along is Sct. Knuds Kilde, which was already known as a holy spring before 1558. Sick people came here in the hope of being healed.

Each place tells its own part of the story of people, faith and life along the Hærvejen.

The Spring Trail is a walk with views of nature, glimpses into history and an opportunity to gain insight into yourself.
