Winter Holiday at Klosterlund Museum
7 February – 15 February 2026.
Klosterlund Museum is closed for the winter but opens exceptionally during the winter holiday!
The nature around Lake Bølling Sø is an endless source of wonder, and the wildlife around the lake offers many memorable experiences.
The theme of this year’s winter holiday is birds. We are warming up for this year’s special exhibition, which focuses on birds. The exhibition features the museum’s collection of photographs of animals and birds by Leif Ragn Jensen, as well as images by local photographer Jesper Holm Sørensen. The exhibition opens on 10 April.
On Monday and Tuesday during the winter holiday, there will be a creative workshop for both children and adults, where you can create your own bird using natural materials such as wood and wool. Your bird can become part of an installation in the upcoming exhibition, or you can take it home with you – the choice is yours.
Throughout the winter holiday, you can also take the family on a bird hunt in the museum’s exhibitions. At the museum host’s desk, you can pick up a booklet about a Stone Age family longing to hear the birds of spring and trying to find food at the end of winter. The booklet sends you out into the exhibitions in search of geese, pelicans, swans and more.
The museum exhibitions are open throughout the holiday (except Friday).
