Mames Babegenush is an award-winning ensemble from Copenhagen, founded in 2004, and internationally recognised for its distinctive musical expression. Rooted in the Eastern European klezmer tradition, the ensemble combines this heritage with elements of classical music, jazz and Nordic folk traditions.

The band is known for intense and captivating live performances, where virtuosity and energy go hand in hand. They have appeared on renowned stages and festivals worldwide, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Old Stage at the Royal Danish Theatre, Ravinia Festival in Chicago, Tønder Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and Oslo World Festival.

Mames Babegenush has toured extensively across Europe, North America and South America. With seven critically acclaimed album releases and collaborations with DR Big Band, string quartets and international soloists, the ensemble has established itself as a prominent name on the global world music scene.
