Yoga for Grandparents & Grandchildren – a day of movement, play, and togetherness
The holidays are just around the corner, and many grandparents suddenly find themselves promoted to babysitters while the parents work hard to get holiday-ready.
The question is: What to do so the holiday days aren’t just about screen time, sugar highs, and wild sleep routines?
Fortunately, Højhuset, in collaboration with the amazing yoga instructor Annemette Linneberg from Linneberg Yoga, has put together a cozy yoga day for grandparents of all ages and their grandchildren (ages 7–11).
We promise a day filled with laughter, gentle stretches, and quality time—and we’ve thought of everyone!
Whether it’s 8-year-old Jens with stiff football legs or Grandma Gerda with mild hip arthritis.
Programme:
10:00–11:00 – Yoga for Everyone
We begin the day with a gentle and playful yoga session suitable for all.
11:00–11:20 – Coffee Break
Time for a small break with coffee, juice, and fresh fruit.
11:20–11:50 – Yoga for Kids
While the grandparents enjoy an extra cup of coffee in the Fireplace Lounge, the children get to move freely on the yoga mats.
12:00–13:00 – Lunch & Free Play
We gather for a cozy, child-friendly lunch in the Dining Hall or in the Atrium Courtyard if the sun is shining. If the children finish before the adults, they can play football in the garden, greet the sheep, play table tennis, or take a trip to the 15th floor to enjoy the view—of course, accompanied by an adult.
13:00–14:00 – Movement & Relaxation
We end the day with light movement exercises and a lovely relaxation session, so everyone leaves with calm bodies and smiles on their faces.
