Fagenes Fest

On the occasion of EuroSkills 2025 at Messecenter Herning, Frilandsmuseet Herning is opening its doors to a new exhibition focusing on craftsmanship and traditions.

The exhibition Fagenes Fest is inspired by the festive events of the 1940s and 1950s, where the city’s craftsmen met in friendly competition. Where blacksmiths and brewery workers competed in tug of war. And housemaids raced with brooms and buckets filled with water.

Frilandsmuseet has delved into its collections and found tools from both current and bygone professions.

There will be various stations focusing on individual crafts, and both children and adults will have the chance to try building a roof structure.

Or perhaps you’d like to try your hand at “bricklaying” in a half-brick stretcher bond in the little mason’s corner.
