A Hereford Beefstouw in Lund near Herning is the oldest restaurant of their chain. Situated in wonderful rural settings, the restaurant resides in an old merchant's farm house and inn dating back to 1846. The Damgaard family bought the building in 1970, and opened their doors in 1971 as the first link of the now countrywide chain. Today - several decades later - A Hereford Beefstouw in Lund is still the place where new ideas and enhancements in their concept are made.

The restaurant itself is characterized by the late Aage Damgaards strong interest in art. The walls are covered partly with his own paintings as well as artwork made by the famous Danish painter - and longtime habitué - Carl-Henning Pedersen. The first floor of the restaurant also houses an atelier used from time to time by artists closely connected with A Hereford Beefstouw. Especially Janis Strupulis, who visits 1-2 months a year, which he has been doing for the last 20 years.

"Aage Damgaards paintings mean alot to me because I knew him well." Flemming Haunstrup explains. Haunstrup has been the restaurant manager since 2008 and has been a part of the group since 1989.

The old restaurant was connected with the neighboring building "Margrethes House" in 1989. The new premises are mainly used to house big trade fairs and large festive occasions.

All in all, the restaurant can accommodate 110 dining guests divided between the two rooms.
