The tour includes a visit to the small museum in Stenholt Krat, where you will learn about the ancient forest, the so-called “Skovlovringer,” and an old assembly site. Along the way, local stories are shared – and you might even encounter a troll.
Your guide is John Juul Eriksen, a retired teacher and former local politician who has lived in Engesvang since 1965 and has extensive knowledge of the area’s history.
The tour starts at the parking area by the dog forest on Klosterlundvej 27 and covers approximately 5 km in varied terrain. The walk lasts 1–2 hours and is not suitable for people with limited mobility.
