Join us as Middle East correspondent Steffen Jensen shares his experiences of life as a correspondent in the Middle East during his visit to MCH Herning Congress Center on February 19, 2025. In his lecture, he will discuss what it’s like to cover wars and conflicts and the consequences it has had.

A Unique Insight into the Middle East

Steffen Jensen offers a personal account of the Middle East's complex dynamics and fascinating intricacies, delving into aspects of the situation that TV news cannot fully convey.

In most parts of the world, things are more or less what they seem. Not in the Middle East. Here, it’s like a flickering mirage. Just when you think you understand something you’ve witnessed, it turns out to be something entirely different. Nothing here is as it seems. In this region, virtual reality existed long before the internet was invented. Everyone has their own version of reality, and multiple, mutually exclusive versions of history coexist side by side.

But a lifetime of reporting from wars and conflicts, often being in danger zones and surrounded by human suffering and disasters, comes with personal costs. You don’t return home without scars on your soul and mind. The correspondent’s family also pays a high price.

Steffen Jensen will discuss all of this in his lecture about working as the Middle East correspondent for TV2 when he visits MCH Herning Congress Center on February 19, 2025.
