2018 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, Denmark

One of the biggest sport events in the world is coming to Herning.

For the first time ever, the 2018 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship will be held in Denmark. Host Denmark will play in Group B in Herning with runner-up Canada, Finland, USA, Germany, Norway, Latvia and newcomer Korea. The games will be played at the 11,000-seat Jyske Bank Boxen.

The first puck drop takes place on 4th May 2018. The worlds 16 best ice hockey teams will play 64 matches during the tournament. 30 of these matches will be played in Herning.

Next phase of the ticket sale begins September 1st 2017. 


The 2018 World Championship stretches over 17 days. The first game will be played 4 May 2018 

Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning is the home ground for the Danish National Team 

A total of 64 World Championship games will be played of the 16 ice hockey nations 

1.000 volunteers are needed 

400 international journalists will be present

300.000 tickets are expected to be sold
